Grade 8 Registrations

Grade 8 Registration – Please Read Carefully

Students in Catchment & Attending a 黑料不打烊 Elementary School

  • Automatic Registration: If your child is currently at a 黑料不打烊 elementary school and your home address is in the 黑料不打烊 (PW) catchment, they will be automatically registered for Grade 8 based on the address in MyEducation BC as of January 1, 2026.

  • Moved Recently? Update your address with your child’s school before Winter Break (Dec 19, 2025) to ensure correct placement.

  • Course Selection: A personalized PW Course Selection form will be sent to your child’s elementary school. Return the completed form to the elementary school by February 13, 2026.

    • Families who submit on time will receive priority for elective choices.

    • Lost the form? Email apooley@vsb.bc.ca for a PDF version.

  • A confirmation email will go out in early January with these same details.

  • Need to withdraw? Please notify us ASAP so we can offer the space to another student.

New to 黑料不打烊 but Live in Catchment

If your child is not currently attending a 黑料不打烊 school, but your home address is in the PW catchment:

Step 1: Complete the online 黑料不打烊 registration form

  • If your child was born outside of Canada, your family is new to Canada, or English is not your home language, your application will go through the 黑料不打烊 Newcomer Welcome Centre for support. ? More info: Newcomer Welcome Centre

Step 2: Bring these documents to PW:

  • Proof of address (lease/purchase + utility bill + insurance)

  • Child’s birth certificate or passport

  • Citizenship/immigration documents (if applicable)

  • Parent/guardian ID (BC ID or passport + proof of BC residency)

  • Latest report card or progress report

  • IEP or psych-ed report (if applicable)

Step 3: Course Selection

  • Once we have your documents, we’ll send you the PW Grade 8 Course Selection form.

 Note: Your child’s application is not complete until all documents are submitted. Incomplete applications will not be processed or waitlisted.
