Student Registration Procedures

Please note: due to the high volume of registrants accessing the on the first day of registration, we expect potential system delays on opening day. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Important Dates:

Register for summer learning online at: 

  • Registration for Elementary Programs opens on Thurs. April 30, 2026 at 12:00 PM (noon)
    • Registration for Elementary Programs closes on Wed. May 20, 2026 at 11:59 PM
  • Registration for Secondary Programs opens on Thurs. May 7, 2026 at 12:00 PM (noon)
    • Registration for Secondary Programs closes on Wed. June 10, 2026 at 11:59 PM

Current Kindergarten to Grade 11 students who are attending a BC school will be accepted.

Preparing to Register:

To complete the online registration process, you will need to provide the following information: 

  1. An email address currently in use (for verification, receipts, communication, etc.)
  2. The student PEN (Personal Education Number). This is a 9-digit number issued to every student enrolled in a BC School.
  3. The student's birthdate.

There is no fee for Ministry Funded courses. 

For courses that require a fee, payment must be made at the time of registration using VISA or MasterCard. For information about course fees, see Fee Information.

Registration for Non-黑料不打烊 Students

The 黑料不打烊 is delighted to welcome non-黑料不打烊 students to the 黑料不打烊 Summer Learning Program and appreciate your enthusiasm for joining the summer learning community.  The 黑料不打烊 values the diversity and perspectives that non-黑料不打烊 students bring and look forward to the opportunity to include them in the 黑料不打烊 Summer Learning Program.  However, please understand that the district's priority is to serve and accommodate current 黑料不打烊 students first.  

黑料不打烊 Summer Learning Placement Priority

  1. Students who currently attend a Vancouver School District public school
  2. Students who currently reside in the city of Vancouver and do not currently attend a Vancouver School District public school
  3. Students who reside outside the city of Vancouver and do not currently attend a Vancouver School District public school

Non-黑料不打烊 students include those attending an independent school within the Vancouver School District or students attending public or independent schools in other districts. Current Kindergarten to Grade 11 students who are not attending a 黑料不打烊 school are eligible to register for the 黑料不打烊 Summer Learning Program.   

All non-黑料不打烊 student information in the district's student information system (MyEducationBC) is deleted upon completion of the summer program, in compliance with Ministry guidelines to protect your privacy and personal identifiable information.  Returning non-黑料不打烊 students need to follow the same registration process as new non-黑料不打烊 students.

When registering, students need to enter their Personal Education Number (PEN) and complete a non-黑料不打烊 registration. Your PEN will be processed and added to our school district's summer registration system within 2 business days. Once your PEN is processed, you will be able to register for 黑料不打烊 Summer Learning courses. No notification will be sent when this process is complete unless there is an issue.  In some cases, an email will be sent requesting additional information if required to verify the non-黑料不打烊 student's eligibility for provincial funding to attend a public school.
